Fees and pricing

PlaneBase charges a flat 5% fee on the item price of every completed sale. The fee applies to the item price only — not to shipping costs.

The fee is deducted automatically at the time of payout. Sellers receive 95% of the item price plus the full shipping amount collected from the buyer.

A small buyer-side payment processing fee is added at checkout to cover payment infrastructure costs. This fee is paid by the buyer and does not affect the seller's payout in any way.

The processing fee is calculated on the total transaction amount including shipping. It is displayed clearly at checkout before the buyer confirms payment.

This fee covers the cost of secure payment processing through Stripe including international card handling for cross-border transactions.

Shipping costs are set by individual sellers using the PlaneBase shipping template system and are not subject to the platform fee. The full shipping amount collected from the buyer is passed through to the seller in full.

Sellers are responsible for configuring accurate shipping rates in their Collector Center before listing items. PlaneBase is not liable for losses arising from incorrectly priced shipping templates.

PlaneBase does not charge listing fees. Sellers can list as many items as they like at no cost. You are only charged when a sale is completed and the 5% platform fee is deducted from the payout.

The same flat 5% platform fee applies to auction sales, calculated on the final winning bid price. There are no additional fees for running an auction, setting a reserve price, or relisting an unsold item.

The same flat 5% platform fee applies to custom commission sales through the Custom Hub, calculated on the agreed commission price. The fee is deducted from the payout when delivery is confirmed and the escrow is released.

There are no additional fees for listing as a custom builder, receiving commission briefs, or sending quotes.

Official manufacturer partners and select high-volume sellers may be eligible for a reduced platform fee rate. Partner status is granted by PlaneBase at our discretion and agreed in writing.

Pre-shipment cancellations — if a sale is cancelled before the item is shipped PlaneBase refunds the full item price including the platform fee to the buyer.

Post-shipment disputes resolved in the buyer's favour — PlaneBase retains the 5% platform fee. The seller bears the cost of the refund from their payout.

Buyer-side processing fee — the buyer processing fee is non-refundable in all circumstances as it covers payment infrastructure costs that cannot be recovered once a transaction is processed.

PlaneBase reserves the right to modify its fee structure. Sellers will be notified of any fee changes at least 30 days in advance via email and platform notification. Changes to fees do not affect transactions already in progress at the time of the change.
